Authorities initiate actions to avoid congestion in the flow of the crop
The Secretariat of Ports (SEP), the Ministries of Transport and Agriculture and Dock Company of the State of São Paulo (CODESP) starts this Tuesday a monitoring of the movement of trucks to avoid major congestion during the flow of the harvest 2013/2014 . The peak usually occurs in mid-March. Last year, the rows of carts arrived achieve more than 10 kilometers in Anchieta – Immigrant System (IAS). The authorities intend to prevent a repeat scenario.
To discuss the matter again, SEP, Docks and ministries of Transport and Agriculture met yesterday at the headquarters of the Port Authority with everyone involved in the logistics process. The aim was to take stock of the measures to be implemented.
The scheduled arrival of trucks to the complex was perfect and the main action is to be put into practice. Through this system, all trucks transporting bulk materials of plant origin will have to be pre -booked and directed compulsorily for screening patios located on plateau or Santos. They will be monitored from the productive area until arrival at Santos complex. Regulators in the Baixada patios , trucks await the call (by electronic means) from the port terminal to which intended to conduct discharge.
The terminals inform the CODESP their reception capacity of vehicles and scheduled daily quantity. The monitoring system monitors compliance of this process. Those who do not meet the schedule will be fined by the state and fined by the National Agency for Waterway Transportation (Antaq).
