Plan your next semester for more productivity

The time to evaluate how was your first semester here. Have you ever wondered how accomplished and what really made it important?

We arrived in the middle of the year, incidentally, this is one of the shortest, and I say this not only by the actual number of working days, but also the feeling of holiday that we have at various times with various events that we still have.

You will notice that that feeling that time is passing faster is even more appropriate this year. Therefore, it is time to evaluate how was your first semester. Have you ever wondered how accomplished and what really made it important?

This is the best time to make an assessment of what happened and what will come. In the Triad method I divulge the importance of annual planning, which in fact so important, I adopted as semester. I always do at the end of the year and on 26/6. It gives me a sense of what I set, what I did, what did not happen and we still do it.

This pause for a review is very simple and will facilitate the organization of tasks. To set these goals and deadlines, take 20-30 minutes, put everything you want to do on paper, after transpassive to a calendar, a notebook or even to a time management software (www.neotriad.com) and think of three determinants:

1 – What areas of your life you need to spend more or less time? Make a list of the roles of your life (father, mother, professional, etc.) and create two columns: “DO” and “STOP”. In the first column write activities that have to do with each of these roles, as well Specific things and not contemplative (instead of “Read More” put “Read the book X”). In the second column put the things you do, but that does not generate any income and you know you should stop doing.

2 – Think of Meta: Notice that I put in the singular, which means that it is limited to that amount of goals. If you have one, great, if you have four, may not be feasible. Think of the number suitable for you. The most important thing right now is the plan of action, ie, tasks that will make you leave the place. This is a good time to review the promises and check what have you been and what did not walk. It’s simple, if not walked, because it is the plan of action is poorly done or the target is unfeasible.

3 – Early Mind: Think of special dates for the next semester, for example, delivery of major projects and trips to the doctor for checkup examinations. Look anticipate or schedule activities that should be made by the end of the year, so you prioritize the important, avoids leaving to the last minute and gets you sure you’re in control of your time.

By doing this analysis you will realize that time is not fast or running. Probably, you’ve reached the turbines and is at a different speed. Nothing against acceleration, but an hour petrol ends and if not on the right road, stopping in the desert should not have much fun, is not it? Life is too short, so use your time building things that are unimportant.
